It is time to celebrate spring again. Visit me during the wonderful SOS, Somerville Open Studios. I have had a successful year and would love to show you my new work.

“Vernon Street Studios is a community well known throughout the area for the quality of work produced by artists with established reputations as well as exciting newcomers. Located in an historic 19th-century brick industrial building, Vernon Street housed the first group of artists in Somerville to open their studios to the public in 1975. Open Studios allows attendees to learn about the creative process, interact with artists in the spaces where they create, purchase original artwork, and discover new talent.

Sculpture Classes
Spring Open Studio
The spring is here and I would like to invite you to my 2016 open studio at 6 Vernon Street, third floor, studio #35. This is an annual event, the first of such events anywhere in New England. Come check out my new work— encaustic painting, monotype, sculpture, ceramic, and jewelry.
There will be over 100 other participating artists in my studio building alone. Somerville Open Studios this year will be on April 30 and May 1, noon–6 PM. My studio is on the third floor at 6 Vernon Street in Somerville. Parking is available in the lot behind the building.

Sculpting en Plein Air
On June 13th & 14th I will be sculpting live during Chelsea Art Walk. Come and say hello, 12-3 PM both days.

Sculpture Class: Beginning March 25th, 2015 Open Enrollment Every Three Weeks

Whether experienced, or novice, join us for sculpting in a supportive environment. The extended sessions with the same model will cover sculpting seated and reclining poses, as well as bas-relief, portraiture, and working in the abstract. No experience is required, just come for learning, exploring, and creating new artwork.
Three-week long poses will give you time to develop your personal vision, exploring the conceptual and practical aspects of modeling the figure in clay.
Fee: $100 per three-week session, or $35 per class.
You can purchase clay at the studio, $30 for 50 pounds, or bring your own.
Fee is payable by check or cash at the first meeting.

Open Sculpture class this fall begins on September 10th. Sigh up for our three-week portrait class by 9/9/14 to secure your spot. You can renew your commitment every three-weeks for a different focus on an ongoing basis.
Extended sculpting sessions with the same model covers seated and reclining figures, bas-relief, portraiture, and working in the abstract.
Three week long poses will give you time to develop your personal vision, exploring the conceptual and practical aspects of modeling the figure in clay.

6:30-7 PM Presentation
7-9 PM Working from the model
9-9:30 PM Discussion, and cleanup
Fee: $35 per class, or $25 per class with membership of BFG includes the model fees.
